Education and Training Boards (ETBs) were established under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013 which provides that each ETB is a statutory body having its own corporate status. It is therefore the responsibility of each ETB to manage the day-to-day operation of the organisation, including the management and employment of staff, subject to adherence to relevant recruitment processes and requirements and the provisions of statutory obligations.

Accordingly, issues relating to the contractual arrangements for individual staff members are a matter between the staff member and the ETB concerned.

Should a staff member have any concerns in this regard, they are advised to raise any such issue directly with the ETB in the first instance.
