The Donabate school planning area covers the Portrane area. There were 1,392 and 1,071 primary and post-primary pupils living in the Donabate school planning area in the 2024-25 academic year, with 88% of those primary pupils attending schools in the Donabate area and 68% of post-primary pupils attending schools in the Donabate area.
