The link below shows the number of presentations/attendances at Emergency Departments and the number of admissions through Emergency Departments recorded on the Patient Experience Time dataset during the period January to September (inclusive) for the years 2019 to 2025 by hospital. See sheet Attend_Admit at the link.

Data is also included on the number of admissions through Emergency Departments with a wait time of under 6 hours, under 9 hours and under 24 hours as recorded on the Patient Experience Time dataset during the period January to September (inclusive) for the years 2019 to 2025 by hospital. Data on the percentage of total admissions through Emergency Departments (not including those discharged from the ED as per question) with a wait time of under 6 hours, under 9 hours and under 24 hours also included. See sheet Admit_Wait at the link.

Data compiled by the Department of Health based on data received as of 30 September 2025 from the Health Service Executive, Patient Experience Time (PET) dataset.

Data does not include presentations to Injury Units.

Data for January-September 2025 will be incomplete and should be treated as provisional. Data was compiled on 30 September 2025.
