The main purpose of the Civil Service Regulation and Public Service Management (Amendment) Bill is to amend the Civil Service Regulation Act 1956 and the Public Service Management Act 1997 to provide that disciplinary action up to and including dismissal in the Civil Service can be assigned below the level of the head of the organisation (Appropriate Authority) and other miscellaneous amendments to modernise the legislation based on the General Scheme (2018).
My officials continue to review the detailed policy considerations. Drafting of the Bill is ongoing, and it is at an advanced stage. Once the drafting process is complete, Government approval will be sought to publish the Bill. The Bill is included on the list of priority legislation.
