The provision of library services is primarily a matter for local authorities in their capacity as library authorities under the Local Government Act 2001. Accordingly, the upgrade to the library referred to by the Deputy is a matter for the relevant local authority in the first instance. Notwithstanding this, I am informed by the local authority that the position, as previously advised, is unchanged. I have asked my officials to ask Cork County Council to provide further details to the Deputy.
