I propose to take Questions Nos. 736 and 737 together.

My Department was involved with the interagency group (IAG) investigation of this incident on the River Blackwater which determined that there was no indication that livestock health, or food of animal origin from primary production, was affected by this incident. My Department participated in the IAG and attended the IAG meetings in a supporting role having regard to its statutory responsibilities for farm animal health and welfare. There have been no reports nor concerns relating to animal health and welfare associated with this incident reported to my Department.

My department has no role in the monitoring of licensed discharge points.
