In the interest of transparency, An Garda Síochána publishes information in relation to the allocation of Garda members nationally, including Roads Policing by Division, which can be found at the following link: www.garda.ie/en/about-us/our-departments/human-resources-and-people-development/garda-hr-directorate/garda-strength-breakdown-2025/.

The Deputy should select July 2025 (the latest date for when figures are available) and then select the report titled ‘Roads Policing by Division 2009 to 31st of July 2025’.

I can also assure the Deputy that road traffic laws are enforced by both Roads Policing personnel and as part of the day-to-day duties of uniformed Gardaí nationwide. This includes a programme of high-visibility road safety and enforcement operations carried out in partnership with other state agencies. In addition all uniform Garda members are to be deployed on high visibility roads policing operations, of 30 minutes duration, in each tour of duty.
