100. To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to outline Ireland’s strategic response to Russia’s incursion into Polish airspace; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [49021/25]

I strongly condemn the violation of EU airspace by the Russian Federation. Three such instances have taken place in recent days: Russian drones were detected in Polish airspace on 9 September, and in Romanian airspace on 14 September. Russian military jets were detected in Estonian airspace on 19 September.
These actions are deeply concerning. They threaten the security of EU citizens and fellow Member States, as well as regional stability and international peace. They further serve to demonstrate that Russia is intent on escalating, rather than de-escalating its ongoing war of aggression in Ukraine.
I call on Russia to cease these violations of EU airspace and to immediately end its brutal war, declare an unconditional ceasefire and to engage in meaningful negotiations to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that respects Ukraine's sovereignty and the UN Charter. Ireland remains in full solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russia's continuing aggression.
