410. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if his Department examined the contributions made by a person (details supplied) when they applied unsuccessfully for a pension. [49833/25]

The person concerned reached pension age on 21 September 2018.
Following a review, the state pension contributory has been awarded from the date the person concerned reached age 66. Arrears from 21 September 2018 to 15 April 2024 are due to be paid to their bank account on 26 September 2025.
The increase for a qualified adult on their spouse's contributory pension is in payment at the maximum weekly rate. This is paid at a higher rate than the rate payable on their state pension contributory.
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
