The Discover EU programme is under the remit of the Department of Education and Youth. Léargas is the National Agency with responsibility for the running of the programme.

The Department of Education and Youth advised my Department that they promoted the Discover EU programme through a social media campaign and posted the advertisement across all the departmental channels. The Department of Education and Youth also has a commitment under Action 17 of the Opportunities for Youth: National Strategy for Youth Work and Related Services 2024-2028 to increase awareness of all EU youth programmes.

Léargas promotes DiscoverEU through an annual campaign that takes place at two intervals each year (usually March/April and September/October depending on the specific timing of each round). Once the European Commission confirms the launch dates for each round of DiscoverEU, Léargas coordinates a targeted social media and email campaign across Léargas channels to raise awareness and encourage applications through to the registration deadline.
