The National Children's Hospital Ireland will be a state-of-the-art facility providing 473 beds in total – 380 in-patient beds and 93 daybeds. It will be the country's first fully digital public hospital and include education and research facilities.

In terms of capacity and parent/guardian accommodation, the National Children’s Hospital Ireland will have single rooms for all 380 inpatient beds - 300 general inpatient beds, 60 critical care beds, and 20 child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) beds. Each of the general in-patient rooms has a parent/guardian bed to facilitate them to stay overnight with their sick child. The CAMHS beds and critical care beds have parent accommodation available nearby.

In addition to this, there is a family accommodation unit (Ronald Mc Donald House) across from the front plaza that has 52 bedrooms for parents and families.
