To ask the Minister for Health the reason certain procedures are not covered through the community health organisation scheme by private facilities where a patient is referred by their general practitioner (GP) through the public waiting list (details supplied); if she will review the qualifying procedures for this scheme; and if she will commit to the HSE corresponding with all GP’s in terms of the qualifying procedures and ensuring that patients are not referred for procedures which do not qualify, resulting in substantial bills for full medical card holders.
