The table below shows the value of payments for the 2024 Scheme year paid under the Complementary Redistributive Income support for Sustainability Scheme (CRISS), by county and the total number of farmers paid in each county.

The Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme, or ACRES, is the flagship environmental scheme provided under the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plan, with €1.5 billion in Exchequer and EU funding allocated over the course of the scheme. There are currently just under 54,000 participants in ACRES.

At this point in time, 99.66% of participants have had their 2023 payments finalised, 98.7% of participants have received their 2024 advance payment (which is worth 85% of the total payment for 2024), and 97.4% have also received the remainder of their 2024 payments (15% 'balancing' payment).

Please see below table providing details of the number of participants that have received a 2024 scheme year payment and the value of payments per county.

Pay runs are taking place weekly across all scheme years and tranches. I can assure you that everything is being done to pay, as soon as possible, all ACRES participants who clear pre-payment checks.

The Areas of Natural Constraints (ANC) scheme provides payments to people farming land in designated areas that face significant hardships from factors such as remoteness, difficult topography, climatic problems, and poor soil conditions.

Support is provided based on the following categories of land:

Category 1 land: The system of farming prevalent in Category 1 is characterised by extensive farming practices focused on livestock management on higher ground.

Category 2 land: The system of farming prevalent in Category 2 is characterised by extensive livestock grazing practices on lower ground.

Category 3 land: The system of farming prevalent in Category 3 is less extensive in nature and characterised by grazing livestock enterprises.

Offshore island land: Island holdings are generally small and fragmented where the potential for intensification is limited and farming is economically marginal, at best.

The total payments issued by county and applicant for ANC scheme year 2024 is shown in the table below
