I propose to take Questions Nos. 810 and 811 together.

This year, the Firearms Unit in the Department hosted a series of engagements with firearms stakeholders, including three national forums for Registered Firearms Dealers in Wicklow, Limerick and Carrick-on-Shannon in February. This was followed by two further forums in Mullingar in June for individual firearms owners. Meetings were also held separately with representative organisations and prospective dealers in Dublin.

I recently met with representatives from the National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC), and, separately, representatives from NARGC also met with officials from the Firearms Unit of the Department.

The objective of these forums and meetings is to provide a mechanism for ongoing engagement with firearms stakeholders. While there are currently no plans for legislative change, I can assure the Deputy that it is my intention to continue to engage with relevant stakeholders with a view to finding a solution for the licensing issues that have been raised and any other potential changes to policy or legislation that may arise.
