In my capacity as Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, I hosted a luncheon for the foreign diplomatic corps subsequent to the National Day of Commemoration Ceremony on 13 July 2025. On that day, I met the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Ireland alongside other members of the diplomatic corps in attendance.
The Government deeply values our relationship with the UAE as an important economic, regional and international partner, and the host to a large Irish community. The relationship is maintained and strengthened through regular engagement with UAE counterparts at both Ministerial and official level, including through our Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Most recently, my colleague, the Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, visited the UAE in September 2025. In June the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation visited Ireland for a series of meetings. Also in June, I spoke by telephone with my counterpart, the UAE Minister for Foreign Affairs. In Dublin, my officials regularly engage with the UAE’s Ambassador and the UAE Embassy on a wide range of matters.
