I wish to advise the Deputy that Statistics on Aviation are collated by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) under Statutory Instrument (S.I.) No. 10 of 2020 - Statistics (carriage of passengers, freight and mail by air) Order 2020.
These figures are published at this link: www.cso.ie/en/statistics/transport/aviationstatistics/.
I would encourage the Deputy to refer to the CSO’s official publications and online databases for future requests where the required statistics are publicly available, however the requested table is provided below on this occasion. The table includes figures for the number of commercial flights that departed from each of the airports in Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Knock and Kerry in 2023 and 2024.
Year | Cork | Dublin | Kerry | Knock | Shannon | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2023 | 9,892 | 114,850 | 1,775 | 2,937 | 7,430 | 136,884 |
2024 | 10,435 | 117,239 | 1,723 | 2,728 | 7,388 | 139,513 |
It is worth noting that passenger numbers across all of these airports increased from 2023 to 2024, with the exception of Kerry Airport which maintained 2023 passenger figures in 2024.
