29. To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if it is possible to provide space for both parents or guardians names and emergency contact details on a child's passport, especially for parents that may be separated and living apart; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44750/25]

The Passport Service does not have any plans to expand the back page of the passport book, which provides space for an emergency contact to be inserted.

It is open to passport holders, or the parents/guardians of a passport holder, who wish to add a second  emergency contact entered on the back page of their passport to enter in the additional details beside the existing details.

Applicants with any queries can contact the Customer Service Hub for assistance at +353 1 671 1633, or via the webchat service: www.ireland.ie/contactpassportservice/. Agents are available from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
