I propose to take Questions Nos. 2776 and 2777 together.

My Department has 8 agencies under its remit:

  • The Western Development Commission.
  • The Charities Regulatory Authority.
  • Water Safety Ireland.
  • Pobal.
  • Foras na Gaeilge.
  • Ulster Scots Agency.
  • Údarás na Gaeltachta.
  • Oifig an Choimisinéara Teanga.
The answers to the previous questions referred to included information regarding the schemes operated by Pobal on behalf of my Department, for which information is available on my Departments website. It should be noted that Pobal support the administration of funding schemes on behalf of a range of Government Departments, and any such programmes would be a matter for the relevant funding Department.

Of the other agencies under the remit of my Department, only Údarás na Gaeltachta operate any schemes of relevance. Information requested by the Deputy is provided in the attached table for the two such schemes. The other agencies under the aegis of my Department have advised they are not responsible for the type of funding programmes outlined by the Deputy.

It should also be noted that the agencies are independent entities, responsible for their own day to day operations, including managing schemes for which they are responsible. They each have up to date information on their work on their websites and Oireachtas contact points in place to provide any information required to Oireachtas members. Details on these contact points are in the table below.
