2573. To ask the Minister for Health further to PQ No. 379 of 10 April 2025, to confirm if the four new allergy service beds that will be opened in the new National Children’s Hospital represents a reduction in the number of beds currently available to children with allergy based conditions (details supplied); the number available to children with allergy based conditions across public hospitals at present; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I note that Children's Health Ireland has previously advised that the Paediatric Allergy Service is an ambulatory service that operates in day wards across CHI at Tallaght, Crumlin, and Connolly, and being ambulatory, there are currently no beds dedicated to the service across the existing CHI sites.

In the National Children's Hospital Ireland, there will be a unit with four dedicated beds exclusively for the allergy service. This represents an increase in dedicated service provision for children with allergy conditions.

With regard to the additional details supplied, I have referred this matter to the Health Service Executive for direct response to the Deputy.
