To ask the Minister for Health since Portiuncula university hospital covers a large area, and in light of the criteria that have been applied for certain pregnancies deemed high risk, whether the HSE has assessed if Galway university is suitable from an accessible point of view; if not, is it envisaged that this care will be provided in Mullingar Maternity Hospital or Dublin Maternity Hospitals; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is an operational matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
