My Department is aware of the concerns of some ECCE approved providers in relation to the retaining of ECCE pre-registration forms for the 2025/2026 programme year and has recently issued a communication to providers in this regard.

The retention of the pre-registration forms is no longer a requirement for compliance purposes.

However, providers may wish to securely retain pre-registration forms to confirm parent/guardian consent has been given to record specific personal information on the EY HIVE in the event of any possible misunderstandings or dispute.

My Department is committed to reviewing how the pre-registration process can be simplified for future use.
