My Department has examined the herdowner’s files. The final paperwork for a previous On Farm Market Value (OFMV) payment was received on 25th July 2025 and payment issued to his nominated bank account on 14th August 2025.

The Herdowner’s Regional Veterinary Office contacted him on 22nd August 2025 to outline the documentation required to expedite a further OFMV payment that he is due in respect of a valuation of two reactor animals conducted on 8th August 2025.

The herdowner can contact his local Regional Veterinary Office if he has any further queries.

1737. A procedure has been put in place whereby a formal review of commonage scores may be sought by participants in the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) if they so wish. Details of this process are outlined in the ‘Review of ACRES commonage scores – January 2025’ document available on my Department's website at gov.ie - Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) (www.gov.ie).

This procedure consists of a three-step process whereby:

  1. The participant submits a request, in the first instance, to the relevant Co-Operation Project (CP) team or Commonage scoring contractor which assessed and scored the commonage in question for an internal review to be undertaken.
  2. If the participant is dissatisfied with the outcome of this internal review by the CP Team or Commonage scoring contractor, they may then submit a request for an internal review to be undertaken by my Department.
  3. If the participant is dissatisfied with the outcome of this review by my Department, they may then submit an appeal to the independent Agriculture Appeals Office.
There is a specific request form to be completed for the first step in the process, with that form also available on my Department’s website. The details to be provided in that request include the name and number of the participant(s) requesting the review of the commonage score and their reason for the request. An outline of the reason why the participant considers the score to be incorrect is essential as the basis for the review and to inform the review process.

I note that a letter signed by the shareholders concerned requesting a full inspection of the commonage was sent to my Department, but it did not provide any specific reason why this was being requested. I am arranging for that letter to be forwarded to the CP team in question.  However, I advise that, in order to adhere to the required process, the formal request form be also sent by the participants concerned directly to the CP Team outlining why they consider the score to be incorrect.

1738. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will consider emergency support measures in view of the extremely limited time available for labelling compliance and packaging changes under EU Regulation 1169/2011 given that food manufacturers, bakeries, and retailers in Northern Ireland have some provisions from the competent authority for food labelling in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. If the Deputy wishes to specify in more detail the background to the issue he refers to, in relation to labelling legislation under EU Regulation 1169/2011, I will provide the Deputy with a more detailed response to his request.
