The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of Garda business, including the allocation of the Garda fleet throughout the State, under Section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024. As Minister, I have no role in these independent functions.

The table below has been provided to me by the Garda Authorities and outlines the number of Unmarked 4 x 4 vehicles on the Garda fleet as on 31 August 2022 and 31 August 2025.
