The Fuel Allowance season begins in late September of each year and ends in April. The 2024/2025 Fuel Allowance season started on Monday, 23 September 2024. It was paid for 28 weeks (until 4 April 2025).
The number of recipients of fuel allowance, by county, as of 31 December 2024 is shown below. These figures are taken from the Department of Social Protection's Annual Statistics Report for 2024. Note that these figures refer to the number of individual persons in receipt of fuel allowance, rather than the number of households. However, only one Fuel Allowance payment can be made to a household.
