A Bereaved Partner's Contributory Pension can be based on social insurance paid by the applicant or her late spouse. In order to qualify on which ever record is being used must have sufficient social insurance paid prior to date of death, or 66th birthday, whichever comes first. A decision regarding an entitlement to the Bereaved Partner's Contributory Pension can only be made when a completed application form is received in my Department.
According to the records of the Department, the person concerned has not yet applied for Bereaved Partner's Pension.
To assist the person concerned, an application form has been issued to her. On receipt of the completed pension application, the person's eligibility will be examined and they will be notified of the outcome.
