My Department publishes the Social Housing Construction Status Report (CSR), on a quarterly basis. The CSR provides details of social housing developments and their location that have been completed, are under construction or are progressing through the various stages of the design and tender processes.
The most recent publication was for Quarter 1 2025. All CSRs are available at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/collection/cb885-social-housing-construction-projects-status-reports/
A version of the CSR file can also be downloaded for analysis by local authority, location etc. at this link: opendata.housing.gov.ie/dataset/social-housing-construction-status-report-q1-2025
In relation to affordable housing, over 14,500 affordable housing solutions have been delivered since the launch of Housing for All to end Q1 2025, including 347 affordable housing options in Longford and Westmeath.
Westmeath County Council has funding approval in place for four schemes to deliver over 70 affordable purchase homes with the support of the Affordable Housing Fund, with 53 delivered to end Q1 2025. In addition, over 100 Approved Housing Body Cost Rental homes have been approved for delivery under the Cost Rental Equity Loan scheme in Westmeath, with 67 delivered to date.
The Affordable Housing Fund is available to all local authorities to assist towards the cost of developing affordable housing at locations where significant affordability needs have been identified.
I understand that Longford County Council are currently developing a proposal relating to the delivery of affordable purchase homes at Ard Michael in Longford town. My Department welcomes the initiative being taken by Longford County Council to deliver social and affordable housing at this location
Building on this progress, my Department will continue to engage with all delivery partners to further the development of the affordable housing delivery pipeline for 2025 and beyond, and to ensure that the affordable housing programme responds effectively to the affordable housing needs identified at a local level.
