I propose to take Questions Nos. 741 and 954 together.

The daily fee payable to members of interview boards in ETBs is required to align with the centrally determined rates and arrangements set by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation. In accordance with these arrangements interview board members, who are not in public sector employment and who sit on interview boards for ETB posts are entitled to receive a fee of €130 per day (Circular 0075/2011 refers).

Similarly, in accordance with these arrangements, the daily fee currently applicable to nominees to interview boards for teaching posts in community and comprehensive schools who are not in public sector employment, is also €130 per day (Circular 0077/2011 refers).

Following representations from the ETB sector seeking an increase in the rate, my Department has engaged with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation in this matter. However, the final decision in relation to the level of such fees rests with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.
