The relevant bodies under the aegis of my Department were consulted in relation to Parliamentary Question No. 933 of 29 July 2025 and the response provided to that question incorporated the responses of those bodies.

While neither my Department, nor the bodies under its aegis, administer or provide any capital funding programmes or grant schemes specifically for sporting organisations (including direct financial support for infrastructure, facilities, equipment, or other capital-related initiatives), where a sporting organisation operates as a business, two supports delivered by the Local Enterprise Offices may be available: the Energy Efficiency Grant and the Grow Digital Voucher.

  • The Energy Efficiency Grant provides up to €10,000 in funding, covering 75% of eligible costs, to support investment in technologies and equipment that help reduce environmental impact and enhance business resilience.
  • The Grow Digital Voucher offers up to €5,000 or 50% of eligible costs for one-year subscriptions to new cloud-based software, including training and consultancy to support implementation.
These supports are open to sporting bodies that carry on activities which would be chargeable to tax under Case I or II of Schedule D, but for the exemption under Section 235 of the Taxes Consolidation Act (TCA), provided they meet the other eligibility criteria of the schemes.

Relevant bodies under the aegis of my Department were consulted in response to Parliamentary Question No. 934 of 29 July 2025 and the answer provided was in respect of both my Department and those bodies.

I can confirm that neither my Department, nor the bodies under its aegis, operate or administer capital funding programmes or grant schemes for community organisations. This includes funding for the development, refurbishment, or enhancement of community facilities, infrastructure, or equipment.
