My Department, regularly engages with the hospitality sector especially through the Cost of Business Advisory Forum which comprises representatives, both indigenous and multinational, from the hospitality sector.

In the context of reporting and analysis my Department provides the Secretariat to the National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) which produced detailed analysis, including for the hospitality sector. The NCPC's most recent published report “Ireland’s Competitiveness Challenge 2025”, and using data provided by the Companies Registration Office (CRO), notes the changing patterns of incorporations and liquidations

Concerning the recommendation of the NCPC regarding the production of an annual sectoral analysis, my Department has been working closely with the CRO on the development and rollout of a data portal. This portal is now in operation in the CRO with staff training and familiarisation ongoing. The expectation is that the portal will be rolled out more widely in my Department in the coming months, thereby facilitating greater analysis of the companies register.
