Ireland Houses involve the co-location of diplomatic missions and State Agencies in one premises, working under one roof, sharing services and facilities, and adopting collaborative work practices.

Ireland House in Singapore was established in 2000 when the resident Embassy of Ireland opened, and was co-located with the existing Enterprise Ireland office. IDA Ireland opened its doors within Ireland House in 2011 and in 2016 there was further expansion with the opening of a Bord Bia office.

Ireland House Singapore is an important regional hub and the colleagues in Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland based there work across South East Asia in close cooperation with the other 5 Irish Embassies (Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta and Manila) to promote Ireland in this dynamic region.

In June 2024, Ireland House Singapore relocated to a larger, more modern space in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District. The concepts of shared spaces and collaborative working were integrated into the design of this new premises, and the Ireland House model is working very successfully.

Ireland and Thailand continue to enjoy good bilateral relations, with Embassy officials conducting regular visits to many regions across Thailand, including for trade and promotional purposes, to engage with the Irish community, and to provide consular assistance.

The information requested on the visits is set out below:

June 2024 Official visit featuring consular and citizen service-related engagement. The Ambassador had meetings with the Mayor of Pattaya and senior local Government officials, senior Police and Tourism Police officers, public and private healthcare service operators and emergency response coordination agencies.
June 2025 Official visit accompanying a delegation from an Irish University to meet relevant Thai Government Agencies and University representatives.
In addition to the Ambassador’s travel to Pattaya/Chonburi, numerous other official visits to the region have been undertaken by other members of the Embassy staff, including the Deputy Head of Mission, the Consul and the Garda Liaison Officer.

The Ambassador and other Embassy staff will continue to travel to this and other regions of Thailand, as business needs require, and as resources allow.
