661. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform for a further update on the commencement date for the construction of the new south Tipperary Garda community HQ; if the contract has been approved and signed; and whether the project is still on track for a completion date of the end of 2026, as stated by the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Integration in Dáil Éireann on 19 February 2025. I wish to inform the Deputy that the Tender assessment and evaluation stage for a Main Contractor and Reserved Specialists for the Clonmel Garda Station project is now complete.

Preferred Tenders for the Main Contract and for the Reserved Specialist mechanical, electrical and lift works have all been identified.

The mandatory 'standstill period' has expired and the OPW has held a pre-Contract Award meeting with the preferred Tenderers.

A Final Business Case has been prepared by An Garda Síochána, this has been issued to the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration (D/JHAM) for their approval.

Once D/JHAM approval is in place, the OPW will agree a construction timeline and a commencement date with the Main Contractor and will issue a Letter of Acceptance awarding the contract to them, and the reserved specialists.
