I am advised by the military authorities that the current number of vacancies for each of the requested positions are as follows:

Position Vacancies Establishment
Dentist 3 7
Doctor 6 28
Nurse N/A N/A
There is 1 member serving in the Army Nursing Service (ANS). However, the ANS positions are not included in the Permanent Defence Force establishment.

A Review of the provision of Medical Services has been completed and is currently under consideration. The Review will inform future recruitment within the Defence Forces Medical Corps.

For the Deputy's awareness, the filling of Medical Officer (Doctor) positions is undertaken on an ongoing basis.
