347. To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence the amount spent by his Department and State bodies under its aegis on travel and subsistence in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and to date in 2025, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42461/25]

There are three bodies under the aegis of my Department; the Army Pensions Board, established under the Army Pensions Act 1927, the Ombudsman for the Defence Forces, established pursuant to the provisions of the Ombudsman (Defence Forces) Act 2004 and the External Oversight Body of the Defence Forces (EOB), which was placed on a Statutory basis on 1 December 2024. The civil servants supporting the administration of those bodies are included in the numbers set out below.

All travel and subsistence is administered in accordance with the policy set out in the various Travel and Subsistence regulations. The amount spent on travel and subsistence for civil servants in my

Department for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and up to 23rd July 2025 is set out in the table below.
