It is not possible to report the number of people who have registered for the new HSE app in Dublin Rathdown because the app is not designed to collect that information - either during registration or in use. This is a privacy preserving measure that is based on the GPDR principle of data minimisation. As a result, it is not possible to provide a breakdown of app registrations by specific geographic area.

As of July 2025, approximately 77,000 users have registered for the HSE Health App nationally. We expect these numbers to increase rapidly as more features are added to the app and as we reach a point where we can provide people with more of their own health information such as copies of prescriptions and access to lab results. Updates to the HSE app are scheduled for about once per quarter.

The app was launched in February 2025 as part of the HSE’s broader digital transformation strategy. The second release went live on the app stores in May. The app aims to empower patients by giving them secure digital access to their health information and services.
