To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the number of retired officials that were re-engaged by his Department on a consultancy basis in each of the years 2015 to 2024 and to date in 2025; the reason for engaging them; the costs incurred in respect of their engagement; and if his Department requires consultants to declare conflicts of interest in advance of utilising their services. As my Department has been reconfigured on several occasions since 2012, the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available.

My Department has confirmed that in the period since the formation of the previous and current Government no retired officials from my Department were subsequently re-engaged on a consultancy basis.
