My Department leads on cross-government policy to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

The Programme for Government, Securing Ireland's Future, commits my Department to publish and implement an updated National Strategy for Women and Girls. My Department is currently working to fulfill that commitment.

It is envisioned that the updated National Strategy for Women and Girls will include targeted actions to support women in business. I look forward to working productively with the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, and Enterprise Ireland, to identify opportunities for collaboration in supporting the implementation of measures to promote women in business.
