I propose to take Questions Nos. 234 and 235 together.
I welcome the recent allocation of €5.64 billion under the updated National Development Plan (NDP), incorporating an allocation of €500 million under the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund (ICNF), for my Department's capital programmes over the period 2026 to 2030.
The purpose of the ICNF is to support Government investments in programmes that assist with meeting climate change mitigation commitments and with addressing nature, water quality and biodiversity objectives.
The allocation to my Department from the ICNF of €500 million is intended to fund projects and programmes that will support my Department's climate mitigation and renewable energy objectives.
In line with the approach set out in the updated NDP, I will now undertake a process of setting my Department's capital investment priorities for the next five years and of allocating funding to the programmes that meet those priorities.
