The management of the courts, operational matters and logistical functions are the responsibility of the judiciary and Courts Service, which are independent in exercising their functions under the Courts Service Act 1998 and given the separation of powers in the Constitution.

In the District Court, the Government assigned Judge Desmond Zaidan to District 25, Kildare, on 15 May 2008.

Moveable judges may further be assigned as required to hear cases in the District by the Court President.

It is noted that North Kildare also encompasses parts of the Dublin Metropolitan District Court area, for example, Leixlip and parts of Celbridge fall into the Dublin Metropolitan District Court area. There are currently 17 District Court judges assigned to the Dublin Metropolitan District, including the Court President.
