Each year since the inception of the Ireland Against Racism Fund, an initial provisional total of €1m has been earmarked for successful applicants to the funding call.

Due to the quality of applications received, and the availability of funds in the relevant subhead, a higher amount than initially allocated has been awarded to successful applicants each year. The reason for this difference is due to small underspends in other planned anti-racism initiatives in previous years.

In May 2023, the fund was launched for the first time, and it was announced that a total of €1 million was being made available. Ultimately 24 projects (13 Scheme A & 11 Scheme B) were awarded €1.3 million in funding.

In May 2024, the fund was launched for the second time, and it was announced that a total of €1 million was being made available. Ultimately 28 (11 Scheme A & 17 Scheme B) projects were awarded €1.1 million in funding.

In July 2025, the fund was launched for the third time, and it was announced via press release that €1 million was once again being made available for the funding call. The total amount awarded, and a list of successful applicants will be announced later in 2025. Should there be underspends in the overall budget line as in previous years, it may be possible to increase the total amount granted to successful projects under the fund.
