2064. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if he will provide information on how best to evacuate to Ireland a sick Palestinian woman who needs specialist treatment that is available here; if he will advise what visa she should apply for in these circumstances and if there are any special humanitarian visas that can be arranged given her serious health issues; to confirm what documentation etc., will be needed to accompany her application; if allowances are made for people who have lost everything including official documents during the ongoing genocide; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In common with the position for all non-EU nationals, entry of Palestinian nationals must be undertaken though the existing legal immigration pathways. It is possible to apply for a visa and for permission to remain in Ireland based on a variety of different reasons, including employment, education or a family relationship.
Details of these legal pathways can be found on the Immigration Service website at the following link: www.irishimmigration.ie.
While the Government has approved a medical evacuation programme for up to 30 sick children from Gaza for treatment and care, following an appeal from the World Health Organisation, more general special arrangements along the lines referred to by the Deputy are not in place.
