All applications for a certificate of naturalisation are assessed individually in accordance with the provisions of the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 1956, as amended. A determination on whether an applicant satisfies the statutory criteria for naturalisation can only be made after an application is received.
The Citizenship Division of my Department have produced a guidance document for all potential applicants which outlines the documents that are required for an application. This document is published on my Department's Irish Immigration website and addresses the matters raised by the Deputy.
The guidance is available at the following link: www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Citizenship-Guidance-Document-April-2024.pdf.
