I am advised by the Garda authorities that data on nationality and ethnicity is not widely collated on PULSE and is not considered suitable for publication. This is in line with the policy followed by the Central Statistics Office, which does not compile statistics on the nationality or ethnicity of suspected offenders.

I am advised by the Garda authorities that data on nationality and ethnicity is not widely collated on PULSE and is not considered suitable for publication. This is in line with the policy followed by the Central Statistics Office, which does not compile statistics on the nationality or ethnicity of suspected offenders.
An Garda Síochána have provided information on the number of persons arrested for sexual offences in each of the past five years, which is presented in Table 1 below.

The management of the courts, operational matters and logistical functions are the responsibility of the judiciary and Courts Service, which are independent in exercising their functions under the Courts Service Act 1998 and given the separation of powers in the Constitution.
The Courts Service has a dedicated email address for the provision of information to members of the Houses of the Oireachtas: oireachtasenquiries@courts.ie
To be of assistance, I requested the information sought by the Deputy. Information related to the number of convictions for sexual offences is presented in the three tables. This has been provided by the Courts Service.

The Courts Service does not hold any information on the nationality of persons before the Courts as it is not a relevant factor in court proceedings. For this reason, the nationality of the accused is not supplied to the Courts by the Prosecutors.
