With reference to the media article supplied, there are 37 in-community properties that have been purchased for the accommodation of international protection (IP) applicants. These properties are being deployed to meet the needs of vulnerable cohorts of applicants.

26 properties have already been refurbished, while 11 are at different stages of refurbishment and the aim is to have them operational over the coming months.

Of the 26 properties that have been refurbished, 20 properties are currently providing accommodation to IP applicants or anticipating referrals. The remaining 6 properties have been identified for specific use in connection with aged out minors and a tender process is currently underway for a provider to manage these properties.
