1889. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection if consideration will be given to putting in place a support to subsidise the cost of bereavement counselling for those who have lost a close family member; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44062/25]

Responsibility for bereavement counselling and associated services are a matter for the Health Service Executive, which provides a range of bereavement supports and counselling services while also working in partnership with the voluntary and community sector. I am advised that, through the National Counselling Service, it provides a professional, confidential counselling and psychotherapy service available free of charge in all regions of the Health Services Executive.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
