I propose to take Questions Nos. 1745 and 1746 together.

The number of primary and post primary DEIS schools that currently do not offer a breakfast club in their school, and the associated cost or providing a breakfast club, are listed below:

No. of Schools No. of Pupils Additional Cost
Primary DEIS schools 261 42,314 €6,042,308.70
Secondary DEIS schools 31 40,892 €5,211,943.50
Costings are DEIS schools currently in receipt of a breakfast club are detailed below. It is important to note that some schools don't request their full allowance, for example where may decide to run the club for four days.
No. of Schools No. of Pupils Cost
Primary DEIS schools 700 110,127 €14,537,226.30
Secondary DEIS schools 201 69,375 €8,169,518.00
I trust this clarifies the matter for the deputy.
