My Department currently supports on-going activity and projects under the Social Housing National Regeneration Programme in the cities of Dublin, Cork and Limerick and the counties of Sligo and Kerry. To date no submissions have been received by my Department for regeneration projects in the Dublin North West Dáil constituency area for any of the years 2020 to 2025.
My Department publishes the Social Housing Construction Status Report (CSR), on a quarterly basis. The CSR provides details of social housing developments and their location that have been completed, are under construction or are progressing through the various stages of the design and tender processes.
The most recent publication was for Quarter 1 2025. All CSRs are available at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/collection/cb885-social-housing-construction-projects-status-reports/
A version of the CSR file can also be downloaded for analysis by local authority, location etc. at this link:www.opendata.housing.gov.ie/dataset/social-housing-construction-status-report-q1-2025
My Department also publishes comprehensive programme-level statistics on a quarterly basis on social housing delivery activity by local authorities and Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) in each local authority. This data is available to the end of Q1 2025, and is published on the statistics page of my Department’s website, at the following link:www.gov.ie/en/collection/6060e-overall-social-housing-provision/

Within the Programme for Government 2025 – Securing Ireland’s Future, a commitment was specifically made to continue to accelerate social housing regeneration schemes in Dublin. My Department remains committed to supporting regeneration across towns and cities.
The prioritisation and project plans for the regeneration of estates and flat complexes in Dublin City and other local authorities are a matter for the individual Council.
In order to support local authorities in progressing such regeneration plans, my Department is making a number of funding channels available to Local Authorities and Approved Housing Bodies for such regeneration, including for the redevelopment of flat complexes. These include the:
- Social Housing Investment Programme (SHIP),
- Affordable Housing Fund (AHF),
- Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF),
- Cost Rental Equity Loan (CREL) and,
- Regeneration (for remedial works)
My Department has not received a funding application from Dublin City Council for these complexes.
