18. To ask the Taoiseach the breakdown of tourism revenue from international visitors over the past three years; the data on countries of origin and sectors that benefited the most; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42348/25]

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) collects data on visits to Ireland by overseas residents in the Passenger Survey.
The Passenger Survey was introduced at Ireland’s air and seaports for the first time in late 2022, therefore data for 2022 is not available.
Using data collected in the Passenger Survey, Table 1 provides statistics, for reference years 2023 and 2024, on expenditure by overnight foreign resident visitors broken down by region of residence of the visitor and expense category.

[Note 1] Fare expenditure covers the cost of air and ferry tickets to travel to and from Ireland
[Note 2] Prepayment expenditure covers purchases of services in Ireland (e.g. car hire, tour bookings, concert tickets, etc, but excluding accommodation) undertaken in advance of the trip and relating directly to the trip
[Note 3] Accommodation expenditure covers the cost of hotels, guesthouses, rented holiday homes etc, during the trip
[Note 4] Day-to-day expenditure covers all other routine costs incurred during the trip. These include the cost of eating out, the purchase of gifts and routine consumables, tour and equipment costs (where not prepaid in advance of the trip) and other incidental expenses
[Note 5] Other Europe covers all other European countries excluding Great Britain and Northern Ireland
[Note 6] Other regions of residence covers all other regions outside of Europe, US and Canada
