1638. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he will consider establishing a cross-departmental housing supply dashboard or task force to monitor real-time monthly data on housing commencements, completions, immigration trends, and residential price movements in order to improve coordination across Government and respond more quickly to emerging pressures; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The cross-Government HfA Data Analytics Working Group was convened shortly after the publication of the HfA plan. This group is chaired by the Department of the Taoiseach and my Department has been a key contributing member since it was created.
An action from the HfA Action Plan update published in November 2022 was to ‘Put in place an enhanced data platform’. To help us to do this, we have created the Insights Service.
The Insights Service is intended to be a single point of reference to access trusted data to measure the progress of HfA (Housing for All). Insights is currently used both within my Department and Inter-Agency/Departmentally.
