1460. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he will urgently reconsider the significant reduction in funding to the tenant in situ scheme allocated to Fingal County Council, reported to have been cut by more than 50%, and funding already allocated, given that this scheme remains one of the few effective mechanisms currently preventing families from falling into homelessness, particularly in the absence of sufficient stock of social and affordable housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has made €325 million available to our local authorities for their overall social housing second-hand acquisitions activity in 2025.

To date, overall, local authorities have only drawdown 35% of the allocated funding available and no Local Authority has exhausted their individual allocated funding. Fingal County Council was allocated funding of €20 million for 2025 of which €8.9 million (c.45%) has been drawdown to date.

My Department continues to work with local authorities to address any challenges which have emerged in order to ensure that tenant in situ acquisitions remain an option in 2025 where no other solutions exist.
