I recently announced a funding allocation of €293,252 for 64 events to support Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools taking place around Ireland in 2025.

This scheme is designed to assist local cultural events which may not be eligible under funding criteria for larger scale events such as those supported by Fáilte Ireland, the Arts Council and similar bodies. The closing date for applications was 4 April 2025 and allocations were published on 24th July 2025. Funding was subject to a maximum grant of €5,000.

The Old Fort Quarter Festival which will celebrate Portlaoise’s rich medieval heritage through live music, re-enactments, artisan markets, and interactive workshops was allocated support of up to €4,500 for eligible costs.
